Welcome to Fr Mike’s Memorial Arts Center
Fr Mike’s Memorial Arts Center Inc. (FMMACI) is a center for the development of the arts dedicated to promoting and fostering the skills of the youth in Abra, Philippines, in line with the vision of Fr Mike Brillantes.
Before he passed away earlier this year (2023), Fr Mike expressed his desire to set up an Arts Center in Tayum primarily for the youth of the town. He left some funds to start the project. In addition all money received from loving friends during his funeral were put into this project.
Immediately in April, Fr Mike’s living siblings, Val, Ted, Celia and their children, together with departed sister Arlene’s children and her best friend Mina got together to set up FMMACI and register it with the SEC, which was then approved in July.
While waiting for FMMACI’s SEC approval, the founders went ahead to procure musical instruments, appliances and other arts paraphernalia. Soon the center started training students on playing guitar and bamboo flute, choir singing and painting. FMMACI offered the courses free of charge.
